Frequently Asked Questions
-
We charge a booking fee to reserve your appointment time and to prepare thoroughly for your care.
New patient appointments require significant clinical preparation, record review, and dedicated time that cannot easily be filled if canceled last minute. The booking fee helps ensure commitment to the appointment and allows us to maintain availability for patients who are ready to begin care.
Insurance patients: The booking fee functions as a refundable security deposit and is refunded at the end of your first attended appointment.
Cash-pay patients: The booking fee is applied toward the cost of your first session.
This policy helps us provide timely access to care while minimizing last-minute cancellations that prevent other patients from being seen.

When an appointment is missed or canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice, that time cannot usually be offered to another patient. This impacts not only the provider, but also patients who may be waiting for care.
Our cancellation policy exists to:
Protect access for patients on our waitlist
Support consistent, effective treatment
Allow us to operate sustainably as a small practice
Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee, even if the cancellation was unintentional. This policy is not a punishment — it reflects the time reserved specifically for you.

Yes. True emergencies such as serious illness, accidents, or death in the family may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Work conflicts, schedule changes, or forgetting an appointment do not typically qualify as emergencies.
As a courtesy, we may offer a limited number of exceptions over time, but these are not guaranteed.
-
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may be treated as a late cancellation and charged the full session fee. This ensures fairness to other patients and keeps the schedule running on time.
